about images

When you upload media to Brand2Social, it undergoes automatic preprocessing, compression, and formatting to meet each platform’s requirements before publishing. In the vast majority of cases, you do not need to worry about encoding or formats — Brand2Social handles this automatically.

However, if your media file falls significantly outside the supported specifications, the processing engine may encounter issues. Reviewing the requirements below and ensuring your files meet them will help guarantee a smooth upload and publishing experience.

Image Specifications

  • Format: JPEG
  • File size: Maximum 8 MB
  • Aspect ratio: Between 4:5 and 1.91:1
  • Minimum width: 320px (scaled up automatically if below this)
  • Maximum width: 1440px (scaled down automatically if above this)
  • Height: Varies depending on width and aspect ratio
  • Color space: sRGB (images in other color spaces will be converted automatically)

Video Specifications

  • Container: MOV or MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14), no edit lists, moov atom at the front of the file
  • Video codec: HEVC or H264, progressive scan, closed GOP, 4:2:0 chroma subsampling
  • Audio codec: AAC, maximum 48kHz sample rate, mono or stereo (1 or 2 channels)
  • Frame rate: 23–60 FPS
  • Maximum width: 1920px (horizontal pixels)
  • Aspect ratio: Minimum 4:5 — Maximum 16:9
  • Video bitrate: VBR, maximum 5 Mbps
  • Audio bitrate: 128 kbps
  • Duration: Minimum 3 seconds — Maximum 60 seconds
  • File size: Maximum 100 MB

Reel Specifications

  • Container: MOV or MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14), no edit lists, moov atom at the front of the file
  • Video codec: HEVC or H264, progressive scan, closed GOP, 4:2:0 chroma subsampling
  • Audio codec: AAC, maximum 48kHz sample rate, mono or stereo (1 or 2 channels)
  • Frame rate: 23–60 FPS
  • Maximum width: 1920px (horizontal pixels)
  • Aspect ratio: Between 0.01:1 and 10:1 — recommended 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank spaces
  • Video bitrate: VBR, maximum 5 Mbps
  • Audio bitrate: 128 kbps
  • Duration: Minimum 3 seconds — Maximum 15 minutes
  • File size: Maximum 100 MB

â„šī¸ Tip: For Reels, always use a 9:16 vertical aspect ratio if possible. While other aspect ratios within the supported range are technically accepted, they may result in black bars or cropping on certain platforms.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

My video failed to upload or process

  • Check that your file is in MOV or MP4 format. Other container formats (e.g., AVI, MKV, WMV) are not supported.
  • Verify the file size is under 100 MB. Large files are the most common cause of upload failures.
  • Ensure the video codec is H264 or HEVC. Files encoded with less common codecs may fail during processing.
  • If your file meets all requirements but still fails, try re-exporting it from your video editor using the H264 codec at a bitrate of 5 Mbps or lower.

My video is publishing with black bars or incorrect cropping

  • This is caused by an aspect ratio that does not match the platform’s preferred ratio. For standard videos, use 16:9. For Reels, use 9:16.
  • Re-export your video at the correct aspect ratio and re-upload.

My image is not uploading

  • Confirm the image is saved as a JPEG file. PNG, WebP, and other formats may not be accepted.
  • Check the file size is under 8 MB.
  • Confirm the aspect ratio falls within the 4:5 to 1.91:1 range. Images with extreme aspect ratios (very tall or very wide) will be rejected.

My image colors look different after publishing

  • Brand2Social automatically converts images from non-sRGB color spaces (such as Adobe RGB or CMYK) to sRGB during processing. This can cause slight color shifts. Export your images in sRGB from the start to avoid any color changes.
