The Cross Post feature in Brand2Social lets you automatically share content from one social media account to multiple others â without any manual effort. Once configured, any post published on your Source Profile will be automatically distributed to your linked Target Profiles at your chosen time. This is especially useful for brands and organizations managing the same content across multiple accounts or platforms.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure the following requirements are met:
- All social media accounts you want to use as Source or Target Profiles are connected in Brand2Social.
- You have the appropriate admin or manager permissions within your Brand2Social workspace.
- You have reviewed the Cross Post rules outlined in Step 4 to avoid configuration errors.
Step 1 â Access Cross Post
1. Log in to your Brand2Social account.

2. In the navigation menu, go to the Cross Post section under Post Stats.

Step 2 â Connect Your Social Media Profiles
Before creating a Cross Post setup, confirm all the accounts you want to use are connected.
1. Verify that all your Source and Target social media profiles are connected and showing a green connected status in Brand2Social.

2. Click the Add New Cross Post button to begin the setup.

âšī¸ Note: If any account you need is not connected, go to Integrations and connect it before proceeding. Cross Post cannot include accounts that are disconnected or have expired tokens.
Step 3 â Configure Your Cross Post
A pop-up window will appear showing your connected social media profiles in two columns.
1. In the Source Profile column, select the account where your original content will be posted.

2. In the Target Profiles column, select all the accounts where the content should be automatically shared.

3. Select the timing for when posts should be shared on the Target Profiles. You can set different timings for different Target Profiles if needed.

Step 4 â Important Rules to Follow
Before finalizing your setup, be aware of the following Cross Post rules. Configurations that break these rules will not be accepted.
Rule 1 â Source and Target cannot be the same account.
An account cannot be used as both the Source Profile and a Target Profile in the same Cross Post setup.

Rule 2 â Accounts cannot be reused across existing Cross Post setups.
If a social media account is already part of an active Cross Post configuration (as either a Source or Target), it cannot be added to a new Cross Post setup.

â ī¸ Important: To use an account in a new Cross Post setup, you must first delete the existing Cross Post configuration that includes it.
Step 5 â Finalize the Setup
1. Once your Source Profile, Target Profiles, and timing are all configured, click the Set Cross Post button to confirm.

2. A confirmation message will appear indicating that your Cross Post has been successfully set up.

3. Your Cross Post configuration will now appear in the table on the Cross Post page, where you can view, edit, or delete it at any time.

How Cross Post Works in Practice
Once your Cross Post is set up, here is what happens automatically:
1. Publish content on your Source Profile â either through Brand2Social or directly on the native social media platform.

2. Brand2Social checks your Source Profile daily. When a new post is detected, it is automatically shared on your Target Profiles at the scheduled time.

3. You will receive in-app and email notifications confirming successful distribution. If a post fails â for example, due to a media format not being supported on a Target Platform â you will be notified within your Brand2Social account so you can take action.

Troubleshooting Common Issues
My Cross Post setup is not distributing posts to Target Profiles
- Confirm that the Source Profile account is still connected and has not expired. Go to Integrations to verify the connection status.
- Check that the Target Profiles are also connected and showing a green status.
- Verify the timing configuration â if the scheduled distribution time has not yet been reached, the post will not have been sent yet.
I cannot create a new Cross Post because an account is already in use
- An account can only be part of one Cross Post configuration at a time. Go to the Cross Post table, find the existing configuration that includes the account, and delete it before creating a new one.
A Cross Post failed due to media guidelines
- Each social media platform has its own media requirements (image dimensions, video formats, file sizes, etc.). If a post on the Source Profile contains media that does not meet a Target Platform’s requirements, it will fail on that platform.
- Review the post content and adjust it to comply with the Target Platform’s guidelines, then manually repost if needed.
I am not receiving Cross Post notifications
- Check your notification settings in Brand2Social and ensure in-app and email notifications are enabled.
- Check your email spam or junk folder in case Brand2Social notification emails are being filtered.
